Man assaults family, resist arrest

Greenwood County Sheriff Deputies arrested a man after he came home Monday agitated and aggressive, assaulted his parents and resisted arrest.

Gregory Dale Fallaw, 40 of 104 Miller Road, Hodges SC was arrested and charged with Assault and battery 3rd degree and resisting arrest.

Man arrested after knocking another man out

Greenwood County Sheriff Deputies responded to a fight that occurred on Saturday, Sept 15 at Harris Landing.  Witnesses say a man sucker punched another knocking him out for several minutes.

Thomas Oscar Longshore Jr., 39 of 140 Kingston Road, Greenwood was arrested and charged with 2nd degree assault and battery.

According to the police report, the victim was at Harris Landing talking to his estranged wife and her brother sucker punched him for no reason.  By the time Deputies arrived, both parties had left the scene.  The victim then called and requested to file charges against Longshore.

Lander's Baillet claims Peach Belt Conference weekly honor

Lander defender Brice Baillet has been recognized as the Peach Belt Conference's men's soccer Defender of the Week.

The award marked Lander's second straight PBC Defender of the Week, as Jordan Skeltonwon the honor last week. 

Baillet played a part in the Bearcats' 3-0 win over rival Erskine on Wednesday night, notching his first career goal and aiding the Lander defense in a shutout of the Flying Fleet, the fifth consecutive win in the rivalry for the Bearcats.

Lander readying for first collaborative exhibit - Public invited to reception on Oct. 4

Greenwood artists of all kinds will join forces with Lander University this autumn for the school’s first collaborative arts exhibit.

The new exhibit, known as Mirror Images, will be on display October 4 through November 13 in Lander’s Monsanto Art Gallery, and showcase the creations of 24 area artists and four Lander students.

12th Annual Paralyzed Veterans Run

The Band of Brothers of Greenwood are hosting their 12th Annual paralyzed Veterans Run on Sept 29, 2018.  The run starts at The Fillin Station, 1610 Hwy 246 South, Greenwood with the first bike out at 12 noon & last bike in by 5 pm.  The run ends at the Band of Brothers Club House, 219 Shaun Road, Greenwood.

Live Music, Food, Spirits, 50/50 Drawing and Door Prizes.  Proceeds go to Paralyzed Veterans of America.
