Greenwood City Police responded to a residence on Moss Creek Lane in Greenwood on Nov 13, 2018 after a report of a woman attempting to stab her boyfriend.
Gayten-Sang, Jerica Monique, 29 of 111 Moss Creek Lane, Greenwood SC was arrested and charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature and poss of a weapon during commission of a crime.
According to the report, the victim claims that Gayten-Sang woke him up and began arguing to the point it became physical. At that point, Gayten-Sang got a knife and came after him down a hallway causing him to fall through a door. He then grabbed Gayten-Sang and restrained her to prevent her from cutting or stabbing him; she then bit him on arm.
Gayten-Sang had left the residence when the police arrived but shortly returned along with a child. She said they were arguing because she did not think the victim was fulfilling his duties in the care of their child. She also claimed she never had a knife.
A witness collaborated the victim’s story and told Police she saw Gayten-Sang holding the knife.
Gayten-Sang was arrested and transported to the Greenwood County Detention Center.
