GREENWOOD, SC – Greenwood County Council received the recommendations of the Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee at their business and administration committee meeting on Tuesday at Park Plaza.
Jill Manning, an accountant with the Greenwood County Treasurer’s Office, presented the advisory committee’s recommendations and was praised for providing council with the most thorough and organized presentation they have ever received regarding the distribution of a-tax funds.
The Festival of Flowers and the Town of Ninety Six could receive the largest distributions with $12,000 and $8,500, respectively. The funds for the Town of Ninety Six will be used for Visitor’s Center operations.
The Catfish Feastival in Ware Shoals and the Festival of Discovery in Uptown Greenwood could receive $7,500 and $6,000, respectively. For a full list of the recommendations, click on the link below.
Council will vote on the advisory committee’s proposal at their next regular meeting on November 6th at the Greenwood County Library.
