GCSO investigating burglary, stolen vehicle

The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary and theft of a truck from Hanson Brick in Ninety Six.

According to a report from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Hanson Brick, located at 624 Brickyard Road in Ninety Six, at about 7:45 a.m. Monday morning. When deputies arrived, an employee informed them that four unknown male subjects had broken into the plant and stole several items. The four suspects could be seen walking through the plant between 6:30 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Sunday evening with rolling trash cans collecting items. The employee also told deputies that plant truck was missing when he arrived that morning.

The report states that the suspects stole 10 spools of copper wire, a 12/24 volt jump box, bolt cutters, a microwave and an air drill in addition to the truck. The total value of the items stolen is just under $8,000.

The truck was located at about 2:15 p.m. on Auld Mill Road in Ninety Six. The vehicle was processed for evidence and towed back to the plant. The stolen bolt cutters were located a short distance from the truck.
