Dispatchers for Greenwood County E-911 celebrated 911 Appreciation Week this past week by having themes for each day, such as Wacky-Tacky Day and Senior Citizen Day.
Dispatchers also had Pajama Day, Black and White Day and 911 T-Shirt Day. They were treated to a day with tailgating food, a southern potluck meal and pizza. They also held a canned food drive and donated all the items to the Greenwood Soup Kitchen.
“E911 is a vital part of our emergency services in Greenwood County,” Greenwood County Sheriff Tony Davis said. “They are the people behind the scenes making sure that the appropriate people get to the right places in an efficient manner.”
Jill Boland, operations manager for Greenwood County E-911, said she believes she has the best team of dispatchers in the state.
“I am confident that all Greenwood county citizens are treated with professionalism and courtesy when they call our 911 center,” Boland said.
