A Troy man is facing multiple charged after police say he attacked another man and the man against his will at knife point.
Police say that Erick Brandon Griffin, 33, of 305 Carla Rd. in Troy, assaulted a man at his home after Griffin said the victim snitched him a year ago. Griffin is now facing charges of first degree assault and battery, kidnapping and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
According to a report from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, police responded to the victim’s home just after midnight Tuesday morning. When police arrived, he was being treated by EMS for his injuries. The victim told police that he and Griffin were drinking together and had been up doing meth for the last two days. The victim told police that Griffin abruptly turned to him and said, “Remember when you snitched on me a year ago?” The victim told Griffin that he was unaware of any such incident and Griffin punched him in the face.
According to the report, the victim told police that Griffin then threw into a bathtub and began punching him repeatedly in the head. The victim told police that Griffin then pulled out a hawk-bill knife and held it to the victim’s chest. The victim told police that Griffin told him repeatedly that he would kill him. The victim told police that Griffin then put the knife to his neck and cut it. Griffin’s girlfriend and the victim were able to get Griffin to stop and Griffin’s girlfriend drove the victim back to his home in Ninety Six.
