A Greenwood man is custody after police say he was smoking marijuana around his children.
According to a report from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, DEU agents met with officials from the Department of Social Services concerning Angel Luis Guzman, 27, of 101 Barley Drive in Greenwood, after two children, a 1-year-old girl and a 3-year-old girl, in Guzman’s home tested positive for marijuana. Guzman is the birth father of the 3-year-old girl. Guzman’s girlfriend, who also resides in the home, is the birth mother of the 1-year-old girl. DSS reports showed that there was concern over supervision of the children and the Child Protective Services had previously been involved with at least one of the children.
According to the report, DSS received a complaint about drug use in the home on Aug. 19. Following a DSS investigation, Guzman, the two children and Guzman’s girlfriend were drug tested. Guzman’s girlfriend tested positive for marijuana with a level of 7.61 picograms per milligram (pg/mg). Guzman tested positive for marijuana with a level of 3.74 pg/mg. The 1-year-old girl tested positive for marijuana with a level of 0.31 pg/mg. The 3-year-old girl tested positive for marijuana with a level of 0.11 pg/mg.
Guzman was arrested on Tuesday and charged with unlawful conduct toward a child.
