Thanks for reading GwdToday - Everyday!

A three car wreck shut down Bypass 72 between Laurel Avenue and Grace Street for over an hour Sunday evening.

The wreck occurred in front of Pizza Inn on Bypass 72 at about 7:15 p.m. It appears a gold Jeep was travelling east on Bypass 72 when it went through the center lane, striking a Chevy Tahoe that was travelling west on Bypass 72. Both the Tahoe and the Jeep were turned completely around in the wreck. The Tahoe was in the left lane and struck a Honda Accord that was travelling west in the right lane on Bypass 72.

Four people were injured in the wreck and were transported to Self Regional Medical Center by Greenwood County EMS. The extent of the injuries are unknown.

The Greenwood Police Department shut Bypass completely down between Grace Street and Laurel Avenue. Traffic was rerouted around the accident for over an hour.

The wreck remains under investigation by the Greenwood Police Department.
