One killed, four injured in late night wreck

One woman was killed and four other people were injured in a wreck that occurred at about 11:40 p.m. Friday night on S.C. 225 near the intersection on W. Alexander Avenue.

According to officials with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, three juveniles were in a 1996 Honda and two other people, including the deceased were in a 2006 Chevrolet. The details of the collision remain under investigation by the SCHP Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigation Team, officials said.

Greenwood County Coroner Sonny Cox has identified the victim as 21-year-old Alisha Martin Boyter of Greenwood. Boyter was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Cox.

The driver of the Chevrolet and all three people in the Honda were transported to Self Regional Medical Center by Greenwood County EMS, officials said.

The driver of the Honda, a juvenile, has been arrested and charged with felony DUI in connection with the collision, according to SCHP.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Alisha and Cory. It is so sad how someones life is changed so quick because of negligence and irresponsibility. May the Lord be with you through this tragic time and guide you all. I couldn't imagine having my life ripped away so fast. And to everyone else who reads this, cherish every waking moment you have with the ones you love. Our life on earth is already so short, don't let time go by without telling those how much you love them!

Instead of it saying ONE killed shouldn't it say TWO since she was carrying a child?! Me being pregnant myself, I believe it should say two killed. This juvenile not only killed a woman, wife, daughter, grandchild, aunt, friend he also killed a baby!!!!! I think this article should be corrected out of respect for her family! My prayers and thoughts are with this family. I can only imagine their pain!

It should say 2 killed since Alisha was 28 weeks pregnant :( I don't care if the other is a juvenile or not. Prosecute him/her to the fullest extent of the law. Also, find out how the alcohol was obtained and prosecute the provider too.
