County names three finalists for treasurer position
Brian King
Staff Writer

Greenwood County has named three finalists for the treasurer position vacated by Lisa White earlier this year. Two of the finalists are currently employed by the county.

White resigned her position effective June 30. Since that time, Elizabeth Meadows has served as the interim treasurer. Meadows served as a senior accountant for the county from 2009 until she assumed the position of interim treasurer. Prior to working for the county she was an accountant with Elliot Davis. She graduated cum laude from Lander University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in business administration.

The second finalist who currently works for the county is Greenwood County Auditor Sharon Setzer. Setzer has been the auditor since July 2012. Prior to being named auditor, Setzer served as Greenwood County’s finance manager beginning in Oct. 2008. Setzer served in various financial roles for private businesses from 1994 until coming to work for the county in 2008. Setzer graduated from the University of North Carolina – Asheville with a Bachelor of Science in accounting in 1993.

The third finalist, Gina Humphreys, has worked in various capacities in Anderson County until June 2013. Most recently, Humphreys served as the assistant county administrator. Humphreys, a 1985 graduate of Lander University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration, began working in Anderson County in 1996. Prior to working for Anderson County, Humphreys held several corporate financial positions as well as a two-year stint with Elliot Davis in Anderson.

No timetable has been set for a decision to be made by council. Council chairman Mark Allison said he expects council to have a called meeting next Tuesday to further discuss the vacant position.
