Agents with the Greenwood County Drug Enforcement Unit seized over three pounds of marijuana and seven guns during a drug raid Wednesday night on Independence Way.
According to a report from the Greenwood Police Department, DEU agents went to 137 Independence Way Wednesday night at about 8:45 p.m. to serve a search warrant. Agents could not get anyone to the door and entered the house using a battering ram. As agents entered the home, they saw a man, later identified as Nytrent Raheem Edwards, 19, of 306 Byrd St., flee out the back door. Several agents were positioned outside the back door and were able to capture Edwards before he could get away. Agents located another man, identified as Kevin Darnell Holiday, 23, of 101 Stonehaven Drive Apt. 34, in a bedroom.
According to the report, agents searched the home and located approximately 3.62 pounds of marijuana in various places throughout the home. Agents located six handguns and a shotgun in addition to various types of ammunition throughout the home. Agents also located several sets of digital scales and a number of clear plastic sandwich bags commonly used in the sale of narcotics.
Both men have been charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Edwards was also served a bench warrant.
