Single car wreck slows GHS traffic

Students from Greenwood High School eager to start their Thanksgiving break were delayed after a single car wreck slowed traffic to a crawl around the school. The wreck occurred about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

It appears the car was travelling south on Cokesbury road when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car appears to have run off the right side of the road and rolled down an embankment, leaving it lying on its top.

Initial reports indicated that there were two people in the vehicle and both did not sustain any major injuries in the wreck.

Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, Greenwood County EMS, Northwest Fire Department and South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the scene.

This is why high schoolers do not "need" cars. I'm not saying these people were students but if they are, it is ridiculous how many wrecks happen because they are "eager" to get home or "eager" to leave school grounds. I have my own opinion as do others and don't get me wrong "adults" do stupid stuff while driving too.. like TEXTING aka not paying attention, speeding, or hell, just plain stupid. If any of you were wondering, no, I didn't have a car in high school and I did just fine. Other than my ranting and opinion, I'm glad they are okay after this event.
