A Greenwood teen is facing a charge of criminal sexual conduct after he allegedly forced a 14-year-old girl to have sex with him.
According to a report from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the victim’s home last September concerning a possible rape. When deputies arrived, the victim said that Devin Brooks Croyle, 19, of 606 Brooks Rd., Greenwood, forced her to have sex with in Feb. 2013. The victim told deputies she was dating Croyle at the time and went to visit him at his grandparents’ home in Ninety Six. The victim told deputies Croyle told her she would have sex with him. When she refused, Croyle told her he would lock her in the house and tell police she broke into the house. Croyle then forced her into a bedroom and forced her to have sex with him. The victim told deputies she continually told Croyle to stop, but he would not.
According to the report, Croyle contacted the victim several days after the incident and the victim told Croyle that she just wanted the incident to go away. The victim told deputies that Croyle had been causing problems with her since school had started back. The victim told deputies that Croyle’s mother was also threatening to assault her if she got Croyle in trouble.
