Greenwood man killed in industrial accident

A Greenwood man was killed Saturday in an industrial accident at the Louis Rich plant in Newberry County, according to Newberry County Coroner Craig Newton.

Newton identified the man as Todd Hendrix, 46, of Greenwood. The cause of death is asphyxia due to mechanical entrapment, Newton said.

According to Newton, Hendrix was employed at the Louis Rich plant in Newberry. Hendrix had not been seen for about 30 minutes prior to the discovery of his body. He was discovered just after 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

Newton has ruled the death accidental, though he noted it is still under investigation by the Newberry County Coroner’s Office and Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Welcome to S.C Wanda. Its do your job and keep your mouth shut or you will see the unemployment line. U can thank our relaxed labor laws and high unemployment for that. In other words their scared to complain about anything. The Hendrix family needs time to heal and a good lawyer.

Can't help but wonder if the employees had tried to tell employer of the dangers of this particular machine.
