Greenwood, SC – Greenwood Capital is pleased to announce the expansion of its Private Adviser team with the addition of John W. Cooper as Private Client Advisor and Diane Symmes as a Private Client Administrator.
Both Cooper and Symmes recently joined Greenwood Capital’s Wealth Management Division, where Cooper is responsible for maintaining existing and cultivating new high net-worth client relationships in the Lakelands; and, Symmes manages the office and provides support to clients and advisors.
“We are delighted to have John Cooper join our team as a Private Client Advisor, as he brings not only a wealth of knowledge around the financial industry, but also a community spirit that is important to Greenwood,” says Brian Disher, Director of Wealth Management.
“We are equally delighted to have Diane Symmes join us,” said Disher. “Diane’s passion for assisting clients is evident, and her experience in the financial services industry will serve Greenwood Capital and our clients very well.”
Cooper comes to Greenwood Capital with 19 years of experience in the financial services industry. He was previously with South State Bank (formerly Bank of America), where he served as the Community Market President, in addition to his role as Manager. As Community Market President, Cooper was the liaison officer for Greenwood and Abbeville counties to the Bank of America Charitable Foundation.
Prior to South State, he worked with AXA Advisors and H & R Block Financial Advisors. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and a graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Majoring in Economics and Finance.
Symmes comes to Greenwood Capital with an expansive background in customer service and sales in banking at South State Bank (formerly Bank of America). During her 13 years at South State/Bank of America she held many roles including, Personal Banker, Sales Support Assistant/Mortgage, and Banking Center Manager. Symmes has an Associate in Arts degree from Piedmont Technical College.
Cooper is active in the Greenwood community, serving on the Board of Directors for both the United Way and the YMCA of Greenwood and Abbeville Counties. He also volunteers his time at the Greenwood Soup Kitchen.
