Let's Pray Together, YMCA Prayer Breakfast Nov 8
Join us and be a part of the YMCA's 20th Annual Community Prayer Breakfast with keynote speaker Danny Nicholson. Mr. Nicholson is President of Connie Maxwell Children's Home.

WS Lady Hornets hosting benefit golf tournament

The Ware Shoals Lady Hornets will be hosting a benefit Golf Tournament on Saturday, Nov 17 with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Ware Shoals Golf Course.

The entry fee is $40 per person and includes cart, green fee, lunch, close-ups, prizes, 1 mulligan and 1 red tee.  Prizes for the longest drive and most accurate drive.

Lander's 7th Annual Bearcat Monster Bash & Halloween Walk scheduled for Oct. 28

The Lander Athletic Department will host the Seventh Annual Bearcat Monster Bash and Halloween Walk from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Jeff May Complex.

The event is sponsored by the Lander Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. 

The Bearcat Monster Bash and Halloween Walk is designed for children 12 and under, who must be accompanied by an adult. In addition to a costume contest at 6:30 p.m., the first 150 children will be given a commemorative T-shirt.

Children and their parents will get to meet Lander athletes and coaches from 16 varsity sports and the Spirit Team. There will also be lots of candy, prizes, good music and clean, safe fun.

Ninety Six NHS to Commemorate First Southern Land Battle of the American Revolution
Ninety Six National Historic Site will host “The Battle of 96”, a special event on Saturday and Sunday, November 17 and 18, 2018, to commemorate the anniversary of the Battle of Ninety Six in 1775. Scheduled activates will be held from from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday and 10:00 am to 3:00 am Sunday.  The Visitor Center will be open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm both days.

Despite Florence, Shrine Club still hosting Oyster Roast, but at new indoor location

Although we are looking to receive much rainfall from hurricane Florence, the 3rd Annual Shrine Club Oyster Roast will still take place at a new location indoors.  They announced today that their event is moved to 4412 Ninety Six Hwy, Ninety Six SC (Large Building Behind Parks & Rec Fields).  To get there, drive down the road beside the ball fields and you will see the building.  This is a large indoor facility that will allow everyone to enjoy the great food and entertainment.

It’s a great thing, but unfortunately all tickets for the event have been sold.  So be sure to let your friends with tickets know about the new location and we will see you all there.

September is National Recovery Monthand Cornerstone invites you to celebrate with us!  This annual celebration honors individuals and families who are in long-term recovery from substance use disorders and promotes the message that recovery is real and is possible.

Fall Home Tour

The Greenwood Woman’s Club is presenting a Fall Home Tour on September 22 from 1-5 PM  The featured homes are located in Grand Harbor and the Plantation of Grand Harbor.  The Equestrian Center will be open also for touring.  After the tour, there will be a wine and hors d’oeurvres reception at the Plantation Pool Pavilion from 3-6 PM.  There will be a raffle at the reception with lots of wonderful items as well as a display of women’s fashions from LuLaRoe.

Lander to host Lowcountry Boil dinner in October - Tickets on sale

Lander University will add a lot more color to autumn this year when it hosts its first-ever Lowcountry Boil on campus.

Scheduled for 6-9 p.m. on Oct. 12 at the Jeff May Athletic Complex, the Lowcountry Boil dinner will feature Jazz music, a cash bar, and food galore with shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, and a touch of crawfish with cocktail sauce and other seasonings.

Boaters Uniting to Help People with Special Needs
The Burton Center Foundation and the Laurens County Disabilities and Special Needs Board are proud to announce the 5th Annual “Cruisin’ for a Cause Boat Run” will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 on beautiful Lake Greenwood.  The purpose of the boat run is to bring awareness of people with disabilities and special needs in Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, Lexington, McCormick and Saluda counties and funding to help them.  The funds raised by this event will go towards providing for emergencies, financial hardships, food, clothing, dental care, medical equipment, personal care items, client events and outings.

5th Annual Baggers on Main is this Saturday

The Woodlawn Baggers presents the 5th Annual Baggers on Main is happening this Saturday, July 28 at the Buffalo Grill in Uptown Greenwood.  Everyone is welcome to come out and enjoy food, drinks and live music.

Enter your bike in their show for a change a great prizes.  Registration is from 12 – 3 pm with a $20 fee.  Classes include Stock Bagger, Modified Bagger, Radical Bagger, Pro Class Bagger, Soft Tail Class, Chopper Class, Open Class and Builder Showcase.
