WATERLOO, SC – A Waterloo man is facing two charges of attempted murder after a shooting that occurred at his home early Saturday morning.
Officials with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office believe that Beatty Eugene Rayfield, 56, of 129 Robin Lane in Waterloo, shot two other men following an argument at his home at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Officials say that the three men were arguing when Rayfield got a .45 caliber pistol and shot one of the men in the back. The bullet went in the first man’s back, out of his chest and struck the other man in the arm. Both victims were transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital and are in stable condition, according to officials.
Rayfield has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and is currently being held at the Johnson Detention Center in Laurens.
