Ninety Six Town Council approves purchase of new police car

NINETY SIX- The Ninety Six Town Council met Monday night in a special called meeting at the Ninety Six Visitor’s Center, discussing various town business.

The main order of business dealt with replacing a damaged police car, which was severely damaged when it was overturned in a wreck. According to Ninety Six town mayor Arvest Turner, the town received $27,954 in a settlement from the accident. After being recommended that the town purchase a 2013 Dodge Charger to replace the vehicle from the accident, members of the Ninety Six Town Council approved the purchase of the Dodge Charger, at the price of $21, 574.

In other business, funding for Ninety Six’s Festival of Stars was discussed. The event will be held on June 28-29.
