The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is teaming up with the March of Dimes to sponsor a Motorcycle Ride for the March of Dimes annual fundraising event.
The ride will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Walmart Distribution Center located at 1050 Vern Cora Road and will proceed along a designated route to the Walmart Supercenter at 922 E Main St. in Laurens.
The Mo'Dime Band has been booked to perform in Walmart Supercenter’s parking lot at the conclusion of the ride. The band features Gerald Douglas, Ron Calese, Mitch McLeod, Steve Pugh and Wayne Neal PLUS some very special guest performers.
Several March of Dimes teams will also be present and will be selling food, cakes and other items in addition to prize drawings. A dunk tank will also be set up in the parking lot and you will have an opportunity to dunk Sheriff Ricky Chastain and others for a great cause.
All motorcycles and VEHICLES are welcomed to participate in the ride and celebrate in the activities at the conclusion of the ride. Entry fee is only $10 per bike or vehicle and all money raised will go to the March of Dimes. Other donations will be accepted.
Come out for the “Ride for Babies” and great fellowship in the Walmart Supercenter parking lot while contributing to a worthwhile cause.
The money raised for the March of Dimes gives hope to more than half a million babies born too soon each year. The March of Dimes supports programs in our communities that help moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies and funds research to find answers to the problems that threaten our babies.
