There will be two opportunities to find jobs next week with D&W Fine Pack and Norbord both having job fairs in Laurens County. D&W is located off Interstate 385 near Fountain Inn while Norbord is located in the southern end of Laurens County in Kinards.
D&W Fine Pack will have a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, June 20, at the Piedmont Technical College Center for Advanced Manufacturing, 109 Innovation Dr., Laurens. From Interstate 385, take exit 9 and turn right near Citgo.
Opportunities at D&W include Production Operators – high school diploma and manufacturing experience preferred but not required; and Technicians – Lead Technician, Mechanical Technician, Maintenance Mechanics and experienced Tooling Technician. Technician jobs require experience and/or classroom training.
Norbord will also have its job fair at the PTC Center for Advanced Manufacturing on Tuesday, June 18, from 3 to 7 p.m.
Interviewing will take place for the following positions:
Millwright, starting rate $22.24 per hour – requires three years mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment and ability to handling welding, pipefitting and the repair/rebuilding of pumps, cylinders, valves and mechanical equipment; computer proficiency; and experience with compressors, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam boilers systems, familiar with bearings (both setting and lubricating). Associate’s degree a plus
Electrical Technician, starting rate $23.69 per hour –requires three-plus years experience in related field, troubleshooting skills, experience with process automation, PLCs, drives, single and three phase motors, low and high voltage, basic computer skills and mechanical aptitude. Associate’s degree a plus.
Process Technician, starting rate $14.86 per hour – requires high school diploma or GED, computer skills, able to work at heights, motivated team player, able to multi-task; ability to operate mobile equipment a plus; inside/outside work; hands on environment.
All Norbord applicants must be available to work rotating shifts.
