Ninety Six CPW moves closer to cleaner water

Commission of Public Works Ninety Six is pleased to announce that it has submitted a request for approval of plans and specifications to the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control for construction of new water lines on Saluda Street, Liberty Street, Park Street, and a portion of Greenwood Ave.  This project was awarded a Community Development Block Grant of $500,000.00 with the Commission contributing a 10% match.

The project was awarded based on concerns and complaints by residents living in the area of water quality. The Commission has, is currently, and will continue to flush the lines in the area until the new lines are installed.

The proposed schedule is:

Advertise for bids during January 2014

Bids to be received reviewed and awarded in March 2014

Construction should begin late April early May 2014

Completion of the project is anticipated late summer or early fall 2014
If you have questions about this project you can contact the Commission office at 543-2900 between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.
