Pair arrested after deputies locate stolen property

A man and woman were arrested last Friday and are facing multiple charges, including violation of the chop shop act, after deputies located a number of stolen four-wheelers and other stolen items.

According to a Laurens County Sheriff’s Office report, LCSO deputies responded t0 315 Revan Drive, Mountville, last Friday afternoon after Greenwood County deputies informed them that there was stolen property at the residence. Deputies executed a search warrant and found a Yamaha motorcycle, six four-wheelers, a Kawasaki Mule, two trailers, two handguns and a quantity of both marijuana and methamphetamine. The vehicle identification number had been removed from at least three of the vehicles located on the property.

According to the report, deputies could not get anyone to come to the door. An aggressive dog was removed from the residence by animal control officers. While searching the house, deputies located Christopher Bruce Anders, 40, and Melissa Fairlee Rhymer, 35, in the bedroom where the drugs were located.

Anders and Rhymer were both arrested and charged with three counts of violation of the chop shop act, two counts of receiving stolen goods, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
