Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office needs your help locating Tommy Busby who is wanted for a Sex Offender Registry Violation. Anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 864-942-7232.

Domestic violence ends with woman shot, boyfriend arrested in Laurens

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office has arrested John Daniel Crumpton Jr. 35 of 206 North Marion Street, Joanna SC. Crumpton is being charged with Criminal Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

Laurens Sheriff arrest three on burglary charges

Laurens County Sheriff’s Office has been aggressively investigating several burglaries that have occurred in the Jones Community of Fountain Inn, South Carolina in Laurens County including Hunts Bridge Road, Durbin Church Road, Allen Bridge Road, and Jones Road. During the ongoing investigation officers partnered with neighbors in the community and other sources to help solve the crimes committed in this section of Laurens County.

Lauren's Sheriff seeks help in liquor heist (Caught on Video)
The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office is  investigating a burglary that occurred on February 7th at 10:30 P.M until approximately 2:10 A.M of February 8th at Cold Point Party Mart located at 6585 Highway 221 South, Laurens. The subjects cut a hole in the back of the building and carried away approximately $5000.00 worth of liquor.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has cancelled the AMBER ALERT for 14 year old Alexis Ann Deas out of Chesterfield SC.  SLED cancelled the alert early this morning around 1 a.m stating the teen had been located but the suspect remains at large.

A Ninety Six woman is in custody after agents with the Greenwood County Drug Enforcement Unit found ice, a strong form of methamphetamine, in the woman’s residence.

Leath PI Inmates Give Back to the Community
Inmates in Leath’s Prison Industries are working to make a difference in the local community. They recently made blankets for many local organizations including homeless shelters, nursing homes, churches, and orphanages. Some blankets were also sent to facilities such as The Burton Center, Patrick B. Harris, and Hospice House.

Couple arrested; drugs, stolen vehicles, guns and child neglect

Over the weekend the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office and Fountain Inn Police Department executed a search warrant at 35 Hue Circle, Fountain Inn.  While searching the residence deputies seized in excess of 25 grams of Heroin, a quantity of Oxycodone and Marijuana, a .357 Sig handgun,  $4000.00 in cash, 2 stolen motorcycles from Lexington County, and a stolen 1997 Chevrolet Corvette from Greenville County.

The Upper Savannah Area Agency on Aging/Aging & Disability Resource Center is seeking candidates for the next term of the S.C. Silver Haired Legislature.

Greenwood and Laurens counties are eligible for three representatives apiece while Abbeville, Edgefield, McCormick and Saluda counties are each eligible for two representatives.

Receiving a promotion as an officer in the South Carolina Army National Guard is a big deal, especially being promoted to the rank of major. The ceremony where the soldier is officially granted the new rank is also a big deal and is often done in Columbia. For Ninety Six native Michael Morris, however, the promotion to Major went far beyond being about him and his promotion. So he decided to honor his grandmother as part of the ceremony.
