GREENWOOD, SC – The Greenwood Police Department continues to investigate a shooting that occurred at 203 Moss Creek Lane on Friday night just before 10 p.m.
According to officials with the Greenwood Police Department, police responded to the location after receiving a 911 call saying that one person had been shot. When officers arrived, they observed the victim lying face down in the living room with two bullet wounds to his upper back. Officers attempted to talk to the victim, but he was unresponsive and making gurgling noises.
Officers applied pressure to the victim’s wounds with items from their emergency trauma kit. The victim then took a deep breath and went completely limp, according to reports. Officers checked for a pulse and, finding none, began administering CPR. After two rounds of chest compressions, the victim took another deep breath and began breathing again. EMS then arrived and continued treatment before transporting the victim to Self Regional Healthcare.
Upon investigation, officers discovered a chair that had two bullet holes in it and observed that the kitchen window also had two bullet holes. There was a table in the kitchen with playing cards scattered across it. There were two people in a back bedroom that told police that they heard two or three gunshots. When they came out of the bedroom, the saw the victim lying in the living room floor. They also told police that the victim and four other individuals were in the kitchen playing cards at the time of the incident.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
