A two vehicle collision in the early morning hours Saturday has resulted in a fatality. The motor vehicle accident occurred about 6 a.m. on Hwy 34 near Chandler Construction. A white PT Cruiser and dark green four door Saturn struck head on causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

Both drivers were treated and transported to Self Regional Healthcare by Greenwood County EMS. An emergency medical helicopter was called in to the scene, but did not transport anyone.

The man driving the Saturn, Keytorious Rashaad Wideman, 23, of Little Mountain Road in Ninety Six, was pronounced dead at Self Regional Hospital from injuries sustained in the accident. He was entrapped in the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Marcia Kelly-Clark.

The accident is currently under investigation by law enforcement.

My heart and prayers go out to the Wideman and Logan family. Tory was such a sweetheart. After the death of his mother, he graduated, was attending college and looked after his younger sister.

Ronnie, yes it is. So my question is was he intoxicated during the time off accident, was he even tested. I would hope so, seeing as there was a fatlity. Mostly because the driver of the other car, is unable to speck for himself as to what happened, this should be investigated because of the past arrest of the other driver. Pray for these familers, and this driver!

There was a Donald Edward Derrick arrested this weekend for DUI, and DUS 3rd offense. Is this the same guy that was in this wreck that killed this young man.
