GREENWOOD—Charles William King, 83, of 239 Irvines Circle, husband of Mary Jean Crocker King, died Friday, July 13, 2012. A native of southern Greenville County, he was the son of the late Walter Andrew and Mary Ellison King.
An Army veteran of WWII, he was also employed by Consolidated Freightways as a truck driver. He was a former volunteer fireman for Gantt District in Greenville and a member of Congressional Holiness Church in Greenwood.
In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by his son Steve King and his wife, Kim, of Greenwood; sisters Edna Burton and Catherine King; brother Truett King; grandchildren Andy King, Josh Moore, Kalyn Templeton, and Ricky Templeton, Jr.; and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Ellie Fricks.
Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.
Services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Gray Mortuary Chapel.
Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family is at the home.
