Frances Taylor Julien, 81, resident of 130 Orchard Park, widow of William R. “Bill” Julien, died November 10, 2012 at Hospice House.
Born in Laurens, January 8, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Ola Hill Taylor. After graduation from Laurens High School, she was employed by Laurens Glass Co. After marriage and relocating to Greenwood, she began her employment with Citizens Trust Co. where she became the first female licensed stock broker in South Carolina. She worked with Interstate Securities in Greenwood and retired from Edgar Norris & Company in Greenville. Mrs. Julien was an avid Carolina Gamecock and Presbyterian College Blue Hose fan.
She was a member of Greenwood First Baptist Church.
Surviving are a sister, Betty Taylor Suddeth and husband, Nolan of Clinton; a number of nieces and nephews and her special caregiver, Jo Ann.
She was predeceased by a sister, Doris Taylor Young and brothers, Richard Taylor and Arthur Taylor.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 PM Tuesday in Laurens City Cemetery with Rev. Christopher Greene and Rev. Ken Maddox officiating.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 Monday evening.
