Harold "Chicken" Lumley, Jr., 86

Harold “Chicken” Lumley, Jr., 86, resident of 200 Highway 246 South, husband of Elizabeth Coleman “Betty” Lumley, died November 27, 2012 at his home.

Born in Greenwood, September 20, 1926, he was a son of the late Harold Lumley, Sr. and Camille Jennings Lumley.  He was a US Army Air Corps. Veteran of World War II, a 1950 graduate of Clemson College and owner of Greenwood Equipment and Repair for over 60 years. 

Mr. Lumley was a member of First Presbyterian Church, served on the Greenwood District 50 School Board for 16 years, past president of the North Carolina-South Carolina Farm Equipment Dealers Association, member of IPTAY for 62 years, longtime pilot and Chairman of the Greenwood Airport Commission and a former member of the Greenwood Rotary Club.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a daughter, Lyn Lumley Cothran and husband Sherard of Abbeville; two sons, John Lumley and wife Nancy and Leland Lumley and wife Kristie, all of Greenwood; one sister, Margaret L. Burch of Greenwood; one brother, Thomas Lumley and wife Edwina of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Braitsch of Charleston, Mathew Darmer and Carolyn Lumley, both of Greenwood.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday at Bethlehem Cemetery with Rev. Larry Duncan officiating.

Pallbearers will be Abney Wallace, Rick Wallace, Joey Bagwell, Barron Burch, Jack King, David Johns, Joe Cantrell, Abney Coleman and Dick Burch.

The family is at the home on Highway 246 South.
