William Lee "Billy" Ginn, 81

William Lee “Billy” Ginn, 81, resident of 109 Ginn St., widower of Rosemary Werts Ginn, died December 4, 2012 at his home.

Born in Greenwood, June 18, 1931, he was a son of the late William Henry “J.C.” and Jennie Irvin Ginn.  He was a graduate of Greenwood High School, formerly operated Ginn’s Grocery and retired from Greenwood School District #50.

Billy was a charter member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, former trustee of the church and a member and president of the Men’s Bible Class.

Surviving are a son, William Dennis and wife, Becky Ginn of Greenwood; a granddaughter, Robyn and husband Brian Fahnle of Laurens; special friends, Mary Gunnells Davis of Greenwood with whom he shared special times and Sammy and Joyce Gunnells, also of Greenwood.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Friday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Gary Davis, Alan Caldwell, Wayne Snedegar, Alvin Allison, Steve Davis, Neil Jones, Tony Dilleshaw and Chris Hudgens.

The family is at the home on Ginn St. and will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 Thursday evening.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 103 Northside Dr. W., Greenwood, SC  29649.
