Joe Frank Yeargin, 96, resident of 208 Kentucky Ave., husband of Lu Ella Thomas Yeargin went home to be with the Lord January 2, 2013 at his home.
Born in Anderson County, November 24, 1916, he was a son of the late George S. and Susie Moore Yeargin. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and was retired from Daniel Construction Company.
Mr. Yeargin was a member and former deacon of Frazier Presbyterian Church and was a Mason. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman.
Surviving in addition to his devoted wife of 40 years are a son, Joe Ronald (Linda) Yeargin of Goldsboro, NC; four step-daughters whom he considered his own, Ann (Frankie) Tooley of Greenwood, Carolyn (Dan) Childress of Mt. Pleasant, Mollie Thompson Ashley of Greenwood and Bonnie Riley of Ware Shoals; a brother, Bruce Yeargin of Greenwood and sisters, Mary Long of Ware Shoals and Mozelle Saxton of Starr; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. He was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM Friday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Webb officiating.
Entombment with Military Honors will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Tooley, III, Joey Tooley, Chris Griffin and Jason Wise.
The family is at the home in Blyth Heights and will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 Friday afternoon.
