Mary Lou Hall Powell, 81, of 306 Grove Street, Apt 2-B, widow of Vernon Sheppard and Albert Powell, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013.
Born in Aiken, she was a daughter of the late Swinton and Neller Heyward Hall. Mary retired from Greenwood Mills and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are a son, James Sheppard (Sissie) of Hodges; three daughters, Alice Doolittle (Harold), Brenda Avery (Marshall) and Cathy Murray (Ray), all of Greenwood; two brothers, S. J. Hall (Anna) of Greenwood and Melvin Hall (Dale) of Aiken; eleven grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Polly Lawter; three sisters, Hazel Al, Shirley Steel and Nilee Clark; three brothers, Ellerbe Hall, Monroe Hall and Roosevelt Hall; and three grandchildren, Frieda Johnson, Ann Davis and Jason Sheppard.
Services will be held at 1 pm on Friday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum with the Rev. Bobby Davis officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

The family is at the home of her daughter, Brenda Avery, 1002 Ninety Six Highway, Greenwood.
