Blanche Virginia Smith Bolding, 87, resident of 115 W. Keels Road, widow of James Claude Bolding, died February 20, 2013 at Hospice House in Greenwood.
Born September 9, 1925 in Spartanburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Melvin Sydney Smith and Bernice Runnion Smith. She was retired from Greenwood Mills Plant #5 after 50 years of service. Mrs. Bolding was a member of Lowell Street United Methodist Church and taught the youth Sunday School Class for several years.
Survivors include her son Melvin Claude Bolding of Los Alamitos, CA; a brother, Lee Gerald Sherbert of Greenwood; a sister, Angie Harris of Columbia, SC; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 27, 2013, from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mary Jane Shoemaker officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Bolding, Booby Jay, Tommy Rearden, Jimmy Brown, James Rearden and Gerald Sherbert.
The family is at the home on W. Keels Road.
