Ellen Bosler Byrd, 84, resident of 512 Bond Avenue, wife of Harry E. Byrd, died May 3, 2013 at Hospice House.
Born in Abbeville Couty, August 10, 1928, she was a daughter of the late William S. and Mary Etta Beauford Bosler. She was a charter member of Frasier Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Byrd’s life was devoted to her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She very much enjoyed traveling, reading and shopping.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 63 years of the home are two sons, John E. “Eddie” (Judy) Byrd and Michael D. “Mike” (Jean) Byrd, Sr., all of Greenwood; a daughter, Harriett B. (Steve) Summer of Fountain Inn; grandchildren, Michael Byrd, Michelle B. Simpson, Laurie B. Barnes, Kevin Byrd, Shane Summer and Shawn Summer; five great-grandchildren.
She was the last member of her immediate family, predeceased by five sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted 2PM Monday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chap with Rev. Luke Mims officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
The family is at the home on Bond Ave. and will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 Monday afternoon.
