Milford Howard - Greenwood

William Milford Howard, 61, resident of 114 Greenbriar Drive, widower of Dianne Whiteford Howard died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at his home.

Born in Spartanburg, October 11, 1951, he was a son of Milford Odell Howard and the late Doris Ann Sawyer Howard.  Mr. Howard was retired after thirty years of service from Whiteford’s Inc. – Kentucky Fried Chicken where he had served as Store Manager and Maintenance Manager.  He was a member of Greenwood YMCA and volunteered as a patient sitter for Hospice Care of the Piedmont. 

Mr. Howard was a member of Jordan Memorial Baptist Church, where he was leader of the Men’s Ministry and had served on the Grounds Committee and Nomination Committee of the church.

Surviving in addition to his father of Taylors are a daughter, Mrs. Chad Ernest (Jackie Howard) Hollingsworth of Greenwood; son, Mark Dwayne Howard of Laurens; three grandchildren, Brandon Chad Hollingsworth, Selena Danielle Hollingsworth and Dylan Ray Howard; and three brothers, Ronnie Eugene Howard and wife Lana, Michael Odell Howard and wife Shirley, both of Greer and Ralph Davis Howard of Taylors.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 3:00 PM at Jordan Memorial Baptist Church with Reverend Andy Bowers and Dr. Glenn Mosteller officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park. 

The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed in the church Tuesday at 2:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Mark Howard, Brandon Hollingsworth, Chris Lowery, Ronnie Howard, Michael Williams, Charles Watkins, Michael O’Sullivan and David Wynn.

Honorary escort will be members of the Men’s Ministry of Jordan Memorial Baptist Church. 

The family is at the home of his daughter, Jackie Hollingsworth, 303 Ferncliff Drive, Greenwood and will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6-8 PM.
