Ethelyn H. Crawford - Greenwood

  Ethelyn Haywood Crawford, 93, of 105 Cothran Drive, widow of Russell Louis Crawford, to whom she was married for 75 years, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at her home.

  Born in Taylor County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Rosebud Smith Haywood.  She was a graduate of the Georgia-Alabama Business School, Macon, GA and retired as Payroll Benefits Supervisor with Greenwood School District 50.  Following her retirement, she enjoyed spending her time reading, traveling, cooking, sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

  Ethelyn was a member of North Side Baptist Church and the Good News Sunday School Class.

  Surviving are three daughters, Sandra Crawford of Summerville, Cindy Carlson (Ted) of Savannah, GA and Lauren Croxton of Swansea; a sister, Mervin Montgomery of Springfield, IL; two brothers, Chapman Smith Haywood of Huntsville, AL and Dr. Herbert Carlton Haywood of Brentwood, TN; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren and a great great grandchild.

  Services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Lethco and the Rev. Dr. J. C. Collins officiating.  Burial will be in Oakbrook Memorial Park.

  Pallbearers will be Dylan Kriewaldt, Auston Kriewaldt, Stewart Bryant, Patrick Bryant, Nicholas Bryant, Curtis Crawford, Zack Taylor and Al Simmons.

  Honorary escort will be members of the Dorcos Sunday School Class of North Side Baptist Church, which includes Chris Still, Avery Shaw, Barbara Brock, Judy O’Reilly, Violet Chatos, Sara Major, Lila Hanley, Paulette Bannister, Jean Harmon, Rose Gamble, Pat Lloyd and Nancy Loucks.

  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.

  The family is at the home.
