Lee Roy Jaffe, 75, resident of 110 P.C. Jean Rd., husband of Suzanne “Sue” Alexander Jaffe, died August 23, 2013 at Hospice House in Greenwood.
Born in Allentown, PA, September 11, 1937, he was the son of the late Milton and Rose Shelkoff Jaffe. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Brooklyn College, receiving his degree in Accounting. Mr. Jaffe was a US Army Veteran and for many years was the owner and operator of The Bargain Center, a clothing store located in downtown Greenwood during the 1970’s.
In addition to regularly attending St. Mark United Methodist Church, Mr. Jaffe was also a long time member of the YMCA family, which he frequented daily for many years. At one time he was ranked 3rd in his age group with the SC Racquetball Association but he was willing to challenge anyone, in any age group.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are two daughters, Bonnie Jaffe of Santa Monica, CA and Gracie Jaffe of the home; three step-daughters, Ana (Russ) Fitzgerald of Greenwood, Allison Burrous of Greenville and Michele (John) Moseley of Spartanburg and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Eddie Jaffe.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4PM Saturday at Oakbrook Memorial Park with Rev. Barrett Alewine officiating.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.
