Tara Rouse - Greenwood

Tara Yvonne Rouse, 39, resident of 2202 Old Laurens Road, died August 25, 2013 at her home.

Born in Greenwood, August 10, 1974, she was a daughter of David “Randy” Rouse and Yvonne Wilson Rouse.  Tara was a graduate of Cambridge Academy and Lander University with an Elementary Education Degree and taught several years in the public school system.

Tara was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society where she was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Honor and recipient of the 2009 Service Award.  She also enjoyed crocheting, sign language, scrapbooking and spending time with her niece and nephew as well as her special four legged companion, Brie.

Surviving in addition to her parents of the home is a brother, Thomas Gregory Rouse and wife Emily of Greenwood; one nephew, Thomas Rouse and a niece, Katelyn Rouse.  She was predeceased by her grandparents, Tom and Janice Wilson and Max and Myrtle Rouse. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Main Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Phil Thrailkill and Rev. Karen Radcliffe officiating. 

Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Wilson, Justin Leopard, Frankie Connell, Glenn Perrin, Mike Johnson and Gavin Jones. 

The family is at the home on Old Laurens Highway and will receive friends at Blyth Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening.

Memorials may be made to one of the charities Tara was passionate about, The National MS Society, PO Box 4527, New York, NY 10163 or to The Alzheimer’s Association, 4124 Clemson Blvd, Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.

The family would like to thank Dr. Bryan Ellenberg and Hospice Care of the Piedmont for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
