Evelyn Cobb Vines, 97, resident of 407 Vines Road, widow of Robert Andrew Vines, died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the home of her daughter.
Born in Greenwood County, June 25, 1916, she was a daughter of the late John Hugh and Emmy Sarah Whiteford Cobb. She was a 1934 graduate of Ninety Six High School and was retired from Eastwell Sportswear.
Mrs. Vines was an active member of Ninety Six First Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir for 35 years, the TEL Sunday School Class and was a member and former teacher of the WMU of the church.
Mrs. Vines took much pride in her gardening and flowers and was very devoted to her family and home.
Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth V. Arrington of Ninety Six and a son, Stanley and wife Glenda Vines also of Ninety Six; a granddaughter, Amy and husband Jamie Somaini of Simpsonville; two great-granddaughters, Sophia and Sloan Somaini. Nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4PM Tuesday in the Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Sprouse officiating.
The body is at Blyth Funeral Home.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.
