Curtis Hensley - Greenwood

Curtis Allen Hensley, 67, resident of 124 Stratford Road, husband of Vicky Moyer Hensley died November 27, 2013 at Hospice House.

Born in Marion, NC, November 27, 1946, he was a son of the late Boyce E. and Edith Calvert Hensley and the step-son of Mrs. Bernice Hensley.  Mr. Hensley was a US Navy Veteran, serving during Vietnam and a graduate of Piedmont Technical College.  He was retired as an independent phone contractor and was currently serving on the Greenwood School District 50 Board of Trustees.

A member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, he was also a member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge #91 and the Mary Pinckney Ouzts Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home and his step-mother of Rock Hill are two sons, William A. “Bill” Hensley of the home and Curtis A. Hensley, Jr. and wife Tonya of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Guillermo, Alba and Sergio Hensley, all of Rota, Spain, Tripp and Dillon Hensley, both of Greenwood and Idella Hensley of Ninety Six; one brother, Dr. Robert Hensley and wife Brenda of York; brothers-in-law, Russell “Rhett” Moyer and wife Sandra of North Augusta, Harold “Hal” Moyer and wife Dianne of Saluda and Michael “Mike” Moyer and wife Dana of Gilbert; and several nieces and nephews.  Mr. Hensley was preceded in death by a son, Mason Hensely; and a brother, John D. Hensley.

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Reverend Nathan Gragg officiating. 

The family is at the home in Druid Hills and will receive friends Saturday immediately following the service in the church social hall.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 501 East Creswell Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646 or to HospiceCare of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
