Marian McDaniel - Greenwood

Marian Corley McDaniel, 96, resident of 804 Rock House Road, widow of J. Willard McDaniel, died January 30, 2014 at NHC of Greenwood.

Born in Greenwood County, August 11, 1917, she was a daughter of the late J.P. and Sarah Griffin Corley. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and retired from Belk Department Store in 1981.

Mrs. McDaniel was a member of First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and the TEL Sunday School Class of the church.

Surviving are a daughter, Jayne and husband Stan Bell of Greenwood and a son, James E. “Gene” and wife Audrey McDaniel of Greenwood; grandchildren, Lee Funderburk, Teresa Funderburk, Peggy Downey, Greg McDaniel and Jennifer McDaniel Milliken; Six great grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant daughter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday at the First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Bryant Sims officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lee Funderburk, Gregory McDaniel, Willie Cooper, Andrew Milliken, Dustin Funderburk,  James Griffin, Melvin Griffin and  Richard Griffin,

Honoarys escort will be members of the TEL Sunday School Class along with Diane Rice, Robert Watson, Sr., Billy Coursey and  Rev. Norris Turner.

The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 10AM Saturday.

The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11AM Saturday.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, 2107 Mt. Moriah Road, Greenwood, SC 29646.
