Richard Weaghington

Richard Benson Weaghington, 55, resident of 122 Fincannon Road, died March 25, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood, September 9, 1957, he was a son of Mae Amilee Wilson Weaghington and the late John Robert Weaghington.  Mr. Waeghtington was a graduate of Greenwood High School and was employed by Cooper Power Systems for over 37 years.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Greenwood are two sons, Spanky Weaghtingon and wife Brandi of Callison, and Luke Weaghtington of the home; three daughters, Christa Shealy and husband Glenn of Saluda, April Hedrick and husband Adam and Colbi Weaghington, all of Greenwood; two brothers, John Weaghington and wife Emily of Inman and Robert Weaghington and wife Lynn of Callison; nine grandchildren and his loving girlfriend, Laurie Ramirez of Greenwood.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday at East Side Baptist Church with Rev. David Thomason and Rev. Randy Ouzts officiating.

The family is at the home of his mother, Mae Weaghington, 1610 Kateway in Greenwood and will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 1:45 Wednesday afternoon.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 1741, Greenwood, SC 29648.

My heart goes out to the Weaghington family and friends. He will be truly missed as a friend and supervisor at Cooper Power. May we always remember him as he was and has been. You will be truly missed Richard but never forgotten!!
