Richard Fields, Melissa Fields, Chandra Fields, Tariq Robinson, Asa Robinson



Richard Allan Fields, 51, and Melissa Maroney Fields, 49, of 2007 Callison Highway, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013.

Born in Greenwood, Richard was a son of Joe and Betty Ruff Fields.  He was employed by Center Manufacturing and attended Laurel Baptist Church.

Born in Greenwood, Melissa was the daughter of Leroy Maroney and Judy Goodman Rush.  She was a homemaker and attended Laurel Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Jade Fields Spencer of Greenwood and a son, Chaz Fields (Chanda Howard), of Greenwood; grandchildren, Chayla Owings, Caylee Owings, Kaydence Fields, Syan Spencer and Ava Sweatt; step-grandchildren, Justin Robinson, Nicole Robinson, Tori Dye and Malachi Conway; Richard’s parents of Saluda; Melissa’s father of Saluda; her mother and stepfather, Bernie Rush, of Greenwood;  Melissa’s grandmother, Alberta Goodman of Saluda; Richard’s brothers, Cliff Fields of Abbeville and Tony Fields of Saluda and Melissa’s brother, Tracy Maroney of Greenwood.



Chandra Marie Fields, 26, of 235 Florida Avenue, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013.

Born in Greenwood, Chandra was a daughter of Richard Allan and Melissa Maroney Fields. 

Survivors include her children, Chayla Owings, Caylee Owings and Ava Sweatt; her sister, Jade Fields Spencer; her brother, Chaz Fields (Chanda Howard), all of Greenwood; her grandparents, Judy and Bernie Rush of Greenwood, Leroy Maroney, Joe and Betty Fields, all of Saluda; and great grandmother, Alberta Goodman of Saluda.




Tariq Kenyon Robinson, 11, and William Asa Robinson, 9, of 2007 Callison Highway, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013.

Born in Greenwood, they were the sons of Larry Robinson and Jade Fields Spencer.  Tariq was a 6th grade student at Westview Middle School and Asa was a 4th grade student at Mathews Elementary School, recently transferring from Pelion Elementary School.  Tariq and Asa attended Laurel Baptist Church with their grandmother.

They were preceded in death by their paternal grandfather, William Larry Robinson

Survivors include their mother of Greenwood; their father of Ware Shoals; a sister, Syan Spencer of the home; half sister, Nicole Robinson and half brother, Justin Robinson, both of Ware Shoals; grandparents, Linda and Ward Bice of Hodges; great grandparents, Judy and Bernie Rush, Leroy Maroney, Joe and Betty Fields; great-great grandmother, Alberta Goodman of Saluda; and uncles, Chaz Fields (Chanda Howard), Timmy Robinson (Mary) and Joey Robinson, all of Greenwood.


A celebration of their lives will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Laurel Baptist Church with the Rev. Robbie Stollger, Mr. Terry Ray and the Rev. Dennis Campbell officiating. Burial will be held in Oakbrook Memorial Park.

Pallbearers for Richard will be: Kerry McCurry, John Gary, Darcy Labadie, John Nicholson, Doug Sampson and Joshua Scott.

Pallbearers for Melissa will be: Wade Nicholson, Matt Ellison, James Goff, Van Spradley, Jay Bradley and Shannon Rodgers.

Pallbearers for Chandra will be: Jeremiah Owings, Dan Ellison, Blake Senn, Michael Jackett, Steve Pressley and Joey Robinson.

Pallbearers for Tariq will be: Miguel Fonseca, Qwan Boyd, Tommy Wright, Jake Craatz, Brandon Horne and Timmy Robinson.

Pallbearers for Asa will be: David Fonseca, Rob Spencer, Tommy Stewart and Mike Wright.

The families will receive friends at Harley Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The families are at the home of Judy and Bernie Rush, 217 Sample Road, Greenwood.

The families respectfully request that flowers be omitted and memorials may be made to the Fields/Robinson Account, c/o PO Box 777, Greenwood, SC 29648.
