Human Resources Specialist

(Office of Human Resources)

Description: Performs prepayroll and employment along with other duties/projects as needed including ACA.  Responsible for HR Help Desk inquiries/customer service. Will manage the NEOGOV kiosk and assist with NEOGOV implementation. Maintains document/record control for the department. Interprets policies and procedures in appropriate areas of responsibility. 

Minimum Requirements:  A high school diploma and 4 years related experience in human resources is required with a bachelor’s degree or PHR/SPHR desired.  Excellent communication and customer service skills.   Experience with state human resources policies and procedures, NEOGOV, Banner, and payroll knowledge preferred. Valid driver’s license is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  General knowledge of Human Resources policies and practices.  Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.  Must be team oriented.  Ability to interpret human resources policies and procedures.  Good computer skills.  Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.  Ability to exercise confidentiality.  Effective interpersonal relations.  Ability to work well independently and possess effective decision-making skills.

Hire Range:  $25,627 - $36,520

Work Hours:  8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday
