Erskine tops Converse 62-49
Due West, S.C. – Despite a subpar shooting night, the Erskine Flying Fleet (8-7, 6-3) topped in-state conference foe Converse College (1-10, 0-8) 62 to 49 tonight in women's basketball action at Belk Arena.  The Fleet shot a measly 29.8% (14-47) from the floor tonight, well below their season average of 41.1%.

Due West, S.C. – Behind a career-high 29 points by freshman Ray Lock (Aiken, SC, Oak Hill Academy), the Erskine Flying Fleet (6-8) beat the Saints of the College of Faith 82 to 73 tonight in non-conference men's basketball action at Belk Arena.

No. 24 Lander women's cruises past GRU Augusta, 83-56

GREENWOOD – Breshay Johnson led a balanced attack with 14 points as the No. 24 Lander Lady Bearcats cruised to their 13th consecutive victory, beating Peach Belt Conference rival Georgia Regents University 83-56 Saturday afternoon at Horne Arena.

Lander men's basketball falls to GRU Augusta in overtime

GREENWOOD – In a game that featured 19 ties and 17 lead changes, the nationally ranked Lander Bearcats finally lost their first game of the season Saturday falling to Peach Belt Conference rival Georgia Regents University Augusta 97-88 in overtime at Horne Arena.

Nationally ranked Lander men's basketball 13-0 after win over Young Harris

The nationally-ranked Lander Bearcats continued their best start in school history, improving to 13-0 by holding off Peach Belt Conference rival Young Harris College 75-66 Wednesday night at Horne Arena.

Freshman guard Kiair Crouch scored 20 points as the Bearcats improved to 5-0 in the Peach Belt. The Mountain Lions fell to 5-6 overall, 2-3 in the PBC.

No. 24 Lander women's basketball defeats Young Harris, 69-63

Both teams missed opportunities over the next two minutes. Bell got a steal with 2:04 left but missed a 3. Lander missed a pair of shots, Young Harris missed another, the Lady Bearcats missed again, and the Mountain Lions had a shot blocked by Reynolds as the score remained 67-63 with 32 seconds to go.

Lander women's basketball No. 24 in D2SIDA national rankings

The Lander women’s basketball team is making its first appearance in the national rankings this week at No. 24 in the D2SIDA poll, which was released late Tuesday night.

The Lady Bearcats, 11-2 overall and winners of 11 straight games, host Peach Belt Conference rival Young Harris at 5:30 p.m. today in Horne Arena.

The unbeaten Lander men's basketball team moved up three spots to No. 13 in the D2SIDA national poll and three spots to No. 22 in the NABC rankings this week it was announced today.

Lander baseball ranked No. 3 in national preseason poll

The Lander baseball team, which played in its first-ever College World Series last season, is ranked No. 3 in the 2015 Collegiate Baseball Newspaper preseason poll.

The Bearcats finished the 2014 season with a program best 52-9 record and won the NCAA Southeast Regional Tournament, along with the Peach Belt Conference regular season and tournament championships.

Lander women's basketball downs Flagler, 81-78, for 11th straight victory

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Lander's Bre Crum converted on an old-fashioned three-point play with 21 seconds remaining Saturday afternoon to cap a 14-point, second-half comeback and give the Lady Bearcats' women's basketball team its 11th consecutive win, an 81-78 Peach Belt Conference victory over Flagler College.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The nationally ranked and unbeaten Lander men's basketball team won its school-record 12th straight victory Saturday afternoon when the Bearcats defeated Flagler, 80-68, in a Peach Belt Conference contest.

Due West, S.C. – Senior DeShaun Hall (Inman, SC, Landrum High School) scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Erskine Flying Fleet (4-5) past the Catawba College Indians (5-5) 83 to 78 this afternoon in non-conference men's basketball action at Belk Arena.  For the Flying Fleet, they have now won three of their last four games, including their last three home games.

The undefeated Lander men's basketball team, which is 10-0 and off to its best start in school history, is nationally ranked in two polls this week. The Bearcats, who were last ranked in 1999, are No. 16 in the D2SIDA Media Poll and No. 25 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches Poll (NABC).

Lander's Shooters Club training starts Jan 4
Coach Burkhamer and his staff, along with Bearcat players, will demonstrate and teach all the fundamentals of shooting the basketball.  Individual workouts along with group work will enable each player to improve their ability to shoot the ball.
