Both Jacob Nelson and Kaleb Gilbert set new school records for wins in wrestling at WSHS.  They beat the old record held by Dustin Watts set in 2008-2009.  Kaleb Gilbert (sophomore) now holds top seat with a 91% win record and Jacob Nelson a first year wrestler has the second highest win percentage in school’s history.
Jacob Nelson, Kaleb Gilbert and Tyler Duvall won gold at the Cavalier Duals Invitational Wrestling Tournament held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at Christ Church.  Reard Patton won silver.  Nathaniel Hilley and Jacob Gilbert won bronze.

The 2012-2013 Middle school wrestlers (Chandler Dibona, Eian Wood (2-time State Qualifier), Seth Childress (2-time NUWA State Champion, 2-time M/S Alternate), Will Peeler, Janius Jefferson, Hunter Wood (1-time M/S Alternate), Michael Batac, and Thomas McClinton) also set a new school record having a total of 90 wins and 37 losses for the season.  They beat the 2008-2009 middle school team record of 46 wins and 35 losses.
