Thanks for reading GwdToday - Everyday!

The Lander University Dance Company will appear in a performance titled "Space, Time and Interchange," on Monday, April 14, at 8 p.m., in the Josephine B. Abney Cultural Center Auditorium.

Assistant professor of dance and dance company director Dr. Hannah Park said the concert will feature selections from different time periods and cultures. They include ballet, modern jazz, a large group hip-hop piece and an pop culture dance with a Korean focus, performed by Korean students enrolled at Lander.

Park said the dancers are teaming with the Lander Jazz Ensemble, which will provide music for contemporary jazz pieces and other selections. She added that the group is excited to collaborate with the ensemble, which is directed by associate professor of music Dr. Robert Gardiner.

Also on the program are two dances performed by the entire company as well as other smaller group performances, duets and what Park described as few solo contemporary dance exploration studies arranged by advanced student choreographers.

There are 23 students in the Lander Dance Company: 16 women and 7 men.

Their performance is free and open to the public.
