HARMONY Chapter #282 Order of the Eastern Star PHA
Striving to Shine Bright in the Greenwood Community!

And whatsoever ye do, do [it] heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. –Colossians 3:23-24 KJV

Knowing this, as demonstrated in the scripture above, Harmony Chapter #282 pushes and continues to make bright strides within the Greenwood Community! Harmony recently initiated 2 new members in the month of June (Bro. Ronald Martin and Mrs. Gloria Lott) and is continuing to seek membership while leaving no one behind.

Under the leadership and guidance of Sister Jennifer L. Gilmore, Worthy Matron and Bro. Ezekiel Booker, Worthy Patron, the Chapter is constantly seeking ways to move towards higher heights and reach greater goals, not forgetting the business of the Chapter. Throughout the past year, Harmony #282 has implemented different ways to spread cheer and love in the community such as adopting a local class at Emerald High School, creating Blessing Bags for the needy and homeless, Recognition Banquet honoring youth and Community Champions which was conspired by the Late Sister Annie L. Watson, Past Worthy Matron, having a local crock-pot cook off and often donating to the local soup kitchen. Not only does the Chapter seek to shine locally but state wide as well. For instance, back in January, some members participated and acted as Marshals in the annual King Day at the Dome March Rally held in Columbia, South Carolina.

Within the Organization as a whole, each year the Eastern Star strives to make a difference in the lives of a senior high school student through Scholarships, Mentoring, Education, Community Service, our Heritage and Technology. Keep a look out for Harmony #282 in the upcoming year as the planning begins! Especially, for our 2015 Annual Recognition Banquet as well as the Chapter going in with their Brother Lodge, Harmony Lodge #37 F&AM PHA under the leadership of Brother Ronald Martin, Worshipful Master as they plan for a small back-to-school bash for their adopted class.
