Students from the G. Frank Russell Career Center recently competed in the 2013 South Carolina SkillsUSA Championship in Greenville at the TD Convention Center and Greenville Technical College. Cosmetology student Rieckia Phelps placed first in Hair Braiding (state only event).
Project Lead the Way students Quaporsha Mason, Jailyn Morton, and Mesha Triplin placed first in Engineering Technology as a team event.
Project Lead the Way student Amanda Ritenour placed first in Prepared Speech in which she had a perfect score.
Machine Technology student Charles Milner placed first in Precision Machining Technology.
Mason, Morton, Triplin, Ritenour, and Milner qualified to attend the 49th Annual National Leadership and Skills Conference (NLSC) in Kansas City June 24th – 28th.
