GCSO investigating alleged home invasion

GREENWOOD, SC – The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an alleged home invasion that took place last Wednesday night just after 8 p.m. at 100 Highland Forest Drive Apt D6.

According to a report from the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the incident location after receiving a 911 call reporting an armed robbery. According to the report, there were four victims present at the residence at the time of the alleged robbery.

The report states that the victims told police that the four of them were playing cards when the mother of one of the victims, who was also at the residence, left to go to the gas station. One of the victims noticed the door was unlocked and went to lock it back when four males, masked and armed, burst through the door, according to the report.

The report states that the victims told police that the four armed men began grabbing money from the table where the victims were playing cards. The victims told deputies that the four men then made the women give them their purse and wallets and the men give them their wallets and pants. All told, the robbers allegedly made off with about $1,500 in cash, two purses and two pairs of pants.

The GCSO Tracking Team responded to the scene, but was unable to locate anyone. The Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.

Greenwood doesn't have a crime problem. For the size town it is I would put it up against Atlanta.
