The holidays have come and gone and things are winding down and returning to a semblance of normalcy for many in the Lakelands. In Uptown Greenwood the garland and tinsel, lights and displays are coming down and being stowed away until next Christmas.

City workers could be seen today taking down the Christmas decorations in Uptown Greenwood. Greenwood Mayor Welborn Adams said he was very appreciative of the hard work that went into making the season bright for residents and visitors.

“I have heard from so many folks that really enjoyed the Christmas lights around town this year” said Adams. “There is a lot of hard work that goes into the decorations and I want to thank the crews for the amazing job they do each year.”

If you happen to see one of these city employees, please thank them for the fine job they did in making the holidays a little brighter this year.
